Now that Faunlore has opened the doors to contributions
from the community, it is my pleasure to present some
information at the people helping make this site more
complete and more useful to all the settlers of Rubi-Ka!
Please see below about the settler and the
contribution(s) they've made. If you wish to submit a picture, I would ask that you
follow some guidelines.
- The pictures need to be of the Guardian ALIVE. No
carcasses, as they don't give a real impression of the
creature.
- The pictures need to be of the Guardian in their
natural state. If they've had calms or roots or snares,
with their attendant "auras", wait until they've faded.
Same applies to any damage shields the Guardian may
have.
- The pictures need to have a clear view of the
Guardian, either standing around doing nothing or
fighting. If the Guardian is fighting, there must be no
obstruction between you and a clean shot of the
Guardian, including other fighters, heal effects, nano
effects, weapon effects, plants, or minions, unless it
is absolutely impossible (Hollow Island is an example).
- I would prefer a medium to high-resolution shot. All
my pictures are taken at 1280x1024 resolution, but, as
this is not possible for everyone, quality shots down to
800x600 will be reviewed.
- Do not crop the pictures... I will do that.
- If you want some examples of what would be an
acceptable picture, please see the following:
the
Tarasque,
the
Mantis Queen,
Hezak the Immortal,
the
Brood Mother, and
The One.
- If you choose to submit a picture, it will be
reviewed and posted as soon as a page is created for the
Guardian, or with the next update if the Guardian is
already present. You will be notified in advance of the
pictures acceptance, and if final approval is given, you
will be added to the Contributors page along with links
to your character's bio, and the contributions you've
made. Note: under no circumstances will an attribution
ever be made within the content of a creature's page.
Those pages are about the mobs themselves, and will stay
that way. If that limitation is unacceptable, feel free
not to submit the picture.
This is a bit of an experiment for me, so I hope it
works out. If all goes smoothly, I may open the site up to
more submissions. Also, if you're really interested in
becoming a regular contributor, of say, loot info, or to
send me a picture or discuss the site, please e-mail me at
krystanova@faunlore.org. Thanks everyone, and happy
hunting! |
