The reet is one of the most common animals on Rubi-Ka. These parrot-like animals spend most of their time flying through grasslands and forests in search of food, and are often found in small to large flocks. In general, most reets will avoid contact with any human in the area, and will only attack when confronted by an attacking settler. It is in this where most reets become dangerous, as these are highly social animals, and many a new settler has fallen victim to an attacking flock of reets, when their initial goal was to fight a single bird. Reets are used by Omni-Tek only in the last stages of terraforming, to give the planet in question a true food web and an appearance of "being alive."

It should also be noted that there are several named reets who are indeed aggressive, regardless of the level of the human they encounter. These reets are generally stronger, faster, and more durable than the average reet, and will frequently drop precious, rare items as a reward for defeating them.
