The sylvabanes are immobile, poisonous, carnivorous plants. They can sometimes be found individually, but are more frequently found in groups growing together. I have seen fields of sylvabane species, with up to 30 members in a field. Sylvbanes are not aggressive except within a very limited range. Indeed, one must almost touch the plant before it will awaken and begin it's attacks. Typically, however, if one plant in a group awakens, many of the others will as well.

When sylvabanes do attack, their attacks cause poison damage and have a tremendous range. These two factors are the main reasons why sylvabanes are among the most dangerous organisms that people encounter in the wild. Often, if one is not exploring in a plane, and is surprised by a sylvabane attack, one will likely die as a result of the encounter.

Despite their ferocity, sylvabanes are among Omni-Tek's most important terraforming creatures. Being plants, they are capable of producing oxygen, and their incredible adaptability makes them useful in almost any terrain. However, most critically, they are capable of defending themselves if attacked or if they are trying to be eaten by a foolish herbivore.
